And build the processes that carry them through development and delivery.
My work connects market research, product economics, engineering and day-to-day operations. As Engineering Manager at Rimsys, I lead global engineering, quality assurance and product functions. I also own Built by Berry, where I develop software products and client applications.
Three examples of connecting business needs, technology and ongoing operations.
01 · Product commercialization
Rimsys Connect
From concept to commercial product
When our CEO proposed an enterprise-data offering, I led the work to establish what we could build, who it would serve and how the economics would work.
I researched target markets, evaluated vendors and tools, investigated change data capture, and developed per-customer cost models, break-even analyses and pricing recommendations. That connected the original idea to the technical options and business decisions needed to move it forward.
The offering became Rimsys Connect, used by major global healthcare and medical technology companies.
02 · Applied AI
From research to working tools
Internal workflows and product development
I lead AI research and development at Rimsys, including its integration into internal business workflows. My work includes building tools, supporting software frameworks and the processes surrounding their use.
I also lead applied AI product development, connecting research, technical evaluation and implementation.
These efforts span internal operations and product development, connecting AI research to specific business needs and working software.
03 · Sustained client delivery
Experience Tennessee
From partner offering to sustained platform
The South Central Tennessee Tourism Association wanted a way to add value to its partner offering. I built Experience Tennessee to support that goal, then expanded the work into applications.
The engagement is now in its fourth year and continues through Built by Berry. I develop and maintain the platform and applications as an ongoing client effort.
My involvement spans the original business need, software development and continued operation beyond the initial delivery.
My responsibilities span engineering, quality assurance and product, along with contractors, software procurement, enterprise integrations, costing and ROI evaluation.
I created and own the engineering and product processes that guide the work. Those processes have reduced time to market and software defects, and improved Net Promoter Score.
I work across executive, technical and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into priorities and coordinate delivery.
